Foot Guards

There will be no reductions in the Foot Guards and the current five battalions will remain intact, as follows:-
  1. 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards
  2. 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards
  3. 1st Battalion Irish Guards
  4. 1st Battalion Scots Guards
  5. 1st Battalion Welsh Guards

King's Division

The current six battalions will be reduced by one and will be reorganised into two large regiments, as follows:-

    The King's, Lancashire and Border Regiment

  1. 1st Battalion The King's, Lancashire and Border Regiment
  2. 2nd Battalion The King's, Lancashire and Border Regiment

    The Yorkshire Regiment

  3. 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own)
  4. 2nd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment (Green Howards)
  5. 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment (Duke of Wellington's)

Light Division

This will initially consist of two regiments, each of two battalions. Later, one regiment will increase by one battalion, when one of the six battalions in the Prince of Wales's Division will be transferred in, as follows:-

    The Light Regiment

  1. 1st Battalion The Light Infantry
  2. 2nd Battalion The Light Infantry
  3. 3rd Battalion The Light Infantry

    The Royal Green Jackets Regiment

  4. 1st Battalion The Royal Green Jackets
  5. 2nd Battalion The Royal Green Jackets

Prince of Wales's Division

The current seven battalions will be reduced to six.
Later, one of the six battalions will be transferred to the Light Division.
This Division will then be reorganised into two larger regiments, as follows:-

    The Royal Welsh Regiment

  1. 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh (The Royal Welsh Fusiliers)
  2. 2nd Battalion The Royal Welsh (The Royal Regiment of Wales)

    The Mercian Regiment

  3. 1st Battalion The Mercian Regiment (Cheshires)
  4. 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment (Worcesters and Foresters)
  5. 3rd Battalion The Mercian Regiment (Staffords)

Queen's Division

There is to be no change to the current three regiments.
Each regiment will consist of two battalions, as follows:-

    The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment

  1. 1st Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment
  2. 2nd Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment

    The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers

  3. 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers
  4. 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers

    The Royal Anglian Regiment

  5. 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment
  6. 2nd Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment

Scottish Division

The current six battalions will be reduced to five, with The Royal Scots and King's Own Scottish Borderers being amalgamated.
The current names of the Regiments will be retained.
The regiments will be reorganised to form one large super-regiment.
This new regiment will be called The Royal Regiment of Scotland, as follows:-

The Royal Regiment of Scotland

  1. The Royal Scots and King's Own Scottish Borderers (1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland)
  2. The Royal Highland Fusiliers (2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland)
  3. The Black Watch (3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland)
  4. The Highlanders (4th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland)
  5. The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders (5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland)
