As a retiree from the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, I can only say the Colonels of the regiments should all be shot, and Geof Hoon boiled in oil.

This total, flagrant disregard for history, pride, honour and the will of the people of Scotland is abominable.

Unification of the Canadian Forces was bad enough. Artillery, armour, and infantry retained their identities, but the corps (and the "Royal" designations) were lost into unintelligible names.

I saw on today's news a picture of a Ldg Seaman heading to Afghanistan with the army. We have Land Command (army) WO's serving on destroyers, Air command techs serving in Land Command bases etc. Confusing?

Even after my years of service, it is still mind boggling. Any more changes and the regiments will be indistinguishable from the Americans, who if they can't count don't know who they belong to.

Time for another uprising and regain "our" regiments. And though I say that as a 3rd generation Canadian, my roots are Scots
