Royal Regiment of Scotland cap badge

Sir,
I have today seen the new proposed Cap Badge of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. I know little about Heraldry but it seems to me that there is something wrong with this badge.

If the Scroll on which the Motto 'NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT' is emblazoned (if that is the correct term) were to be un - interlaced (again if that is the correct term) then that motto would be unreadable.

If one examines the badge carefully one will understand what I mean. Anyone with an eye for detail will, I feel, agree with me. If there is to be a new badge surely we must get it right!

Perhaps someone with a knowledge of Heraldry would be kind enough to advise me and those who are/have been involved with the design and production of this badge.

Major (Retd) D 'Steve' Simson - Once a Royal. Always a Royal.
