Dear Sir/Madam,

Do I take it from the information given on the Ps&Ds that there is only to be ONE band for the five battalions?

So, not only do they get rid of regimental tartans, leaving the troops with a government tartan (sorry Black Watch), but they are cutting down on the magnificent music and displays that the Scottish Division Ps&Ds have always produced (even along with the old style Regimental bands).

As one time Drum Major of the Queens Own Highlanders it makes my blood boil to think that this sort of thing can be contemplated, never mind tolerated.

In particular I find the attitude of the Senior Officers, who voted for the move, to be beneath contempt, and have nothing but praise for the gentleman who voted against it. Mind you he is probably driving a dustcart somewhere now!

Yours sincerely
Joe S MacDonald
