Royal Assent means the government can go ahead with the new title - the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

Combining the six Scottish regiments into one has resulted in a massive campaign of opposition across Scotland.
Army chiefs said the changes were needed to ensure commitments could be met in the 21st century.
They want to merge the King's Own Scottish Borderers with the Royal Scots.
The merged regiment will then combine with the Black Watch, the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, the Royal Highland Fusiliers and the Highlanders to form the new super-regiment.
